BEL-RIDGE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – St. Louis County police are investigating after a man was shot in the neck and ran to a gas station in Bel-Ridge, Missouri early Monday morning.

According to police, a 22-year-old victim was walking in the 4200 block of Springdale when he was confronted by an unknown man. Police say the suspect and victim exchanged words before the suspect pulled a handgun. The victim immediately started running south of Springdale towards Natural Bridge when two shots were fired and he was shot in the neck, police say.

After being shot, the victim was able to run to a QuikTrip in the 9090 block of Natural Bridge around 12:50 a.m.

Police say the man suffered a non-fatal injury. 

 

Authorities have not released any other information in the case.
