Davis, Zuerlein lead Rams over Bucs 19-17

(FootballStL) – One final field goal and an clock run off game the St. Louis Rams their first road win since November of last season and their third since the start of 2013.

Greg Zuerlein connected on a 38 yard field goal with only 0:38 left in the fourth quarter.

As Tampa Bay began their drive, Josh McCown connected with Mike Evans for 29 yards to place the Bucs on the Rams 32 yard line. However, Evans went down with an unknown injury and attempted to get off the field.

But with less than 10 seconds left and no time outs left, the referee ran the remaining time off the clock which resulted in the Rams' victory.

Rams-Bucs trade FGs

The Rams and Bucs traded field goals through the rest of the third quarter and as they started the fourth quarter with the Bucs taking a 17-16 lead.

Greg Zuerlein put both a 35 and 46 yard field goals, one coming after a blocked Bucs field goal. For the second time in the game, TJ McDonald blocked a kick.

But the Bucs put a 36 yarder through for the fifth lead change of the game.

Stacy's fumble turns into TD for Bucs

A fumble from Zac Stacy at the beginning of the second half lead to another touchdown for the Bucaneers to regain the lead over the Rams.

Josh McCown then marched the Bucs 77 yards down the field as he scrambled for his second touchdown of the game.

Blocked punt lead to Rams FG

For the first time in the season, the Rams took the lead off the leg of Greg Zuerlein to take a 10-7 lead before the end of the first half.

A lightning delay put the game on hold for about an hour. Prior to the delay, Tavon Austin was hurt while attempting to make a catch and he did not return. His status was listed as questionable.

However, the Rams’ defense forced the Bucs to punt and TJ McDonald blocked the punt to put the Rams within the 30 yard line in Bucs’ territory. But Austin was unable to move the Rams farther and they settled for a 36-yard field goal to give the Rams their first lead of the season.

Davis leads Rams to first TD of season

The St. Louis Rams scored their first touchdown of the season as back-up quarterback Austin Davis lead the charge 80 yards down the field in the Rams’ first drive of the game.

The drive was highlighted by an end-around play from Tavon Austin that went for 18 yards while Brian Quick had two receptions for 30 yards total.

Davis was 3 for 3 on the drive before Zac Stacy punched the ball two yards into the end zone. Greg Zuerlein’s extra point was good as the Rams knotted the game at seven.

Penalties lead to touchdown for Bucs

After committing 13 penalties in Week 1, the Rams committed another three on the opening drive in Tampa Bay that allowed a touchdown for the Bucs.

The Rams were called for two off-sides, one from Michael Brockers that nullified an interception that James Laurinaitis ran back for a touchdown. The other penalty was called for a horse-collar tackle on Eugene Sims.

The drive resulted in five yard scramble from Josh McCown for the first touchdown of the game.
