RIVERVIEW, MO (KMOV.com) – Two men were shot after leaving a convenience store in Riverview, Missouri Sunday morning.
Investigators say the victims, a 19-year-old and 20-year-old, were walking down the street in the 500 block of Chambers Road when two suspects in a white vehicle approached them and opened fire.
"A couple of guys who got shot were at my back door," said a resident of the area. "One was shot in the stomach, and one in the arm and leg. They were bleeding out and screaming for help to open the door and call 911."
Pavilion of Praise Pastor Troy Doyle said he heard gunshots while preaching because the incident happened near the church.
"I heard about ten shots," said Pastor Doyle. "This was right when I was getting up to preach. It was very surreal."
None of the congregation members were allowed to leave the church immediately after the service because they were so close to the shooting.
Police say the injuries of the victims are non-life threatening.
