Highland Board of Education and HEA reach a tentative agreement

HIGHLAND, IL (KMOV.com) – The Highland, Illinois Board of Education and the Highland Education Association have reached a tentative agreement after eight hours of talks.
The HEA will schedule a meeting of their membership on Sunday. The district says they are planning on sending a press release once the results of the meeting are available. The details of the agreement will not be disclosed until the agreement has been approved.
Teachers in the Highland School District went on strike Thursday after rejecting the latest contract proposal from the district.
Approximately 3,000 students and 175 teachers are affected by the strike.
