FERGUSON, MO (KMOV.com) -- The Urban League held their annual job fair in Ferguson on Saturday which included more employers and resources than previous years after thousands of residents called for more employment opportunities for the people of North County.
“We want to make sure we are at the forefront of providing the opportunities for young people,” said Michael McMillan, President of the Urban League. “Especially all people who are in need of employment and are also underemployed.”
More than 2500 people showed up to interview and talk with 90 different employers from the healthcare, banking, and law enforcement fields.
Alongside job opportunities, food and toiletries were given out to families as well as information about furthering education and resume assistance.
Organizers say many people left the job fair with a new job or enrolled in classes to further their education.
