OAKVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A south St. Louis County man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars that was meant for high school students.

Forty seven-year-old Kevin Tate is facing felony charges after police said he took $11,000 from the Oakville High School Boys Soccer Booster Club.

Police said Tate had been serving for the booster club since 2012, and he was writing checks from the club to himself.

Tate worked in the finance department of St. Louis Community College.  In response, St. Louis Community College released the following statement: “Late yesterday, St. Louis Community College officials became aware of the allegations against Mr. Tate. Mr. Tate has been placed on administrative leave.”
