ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Authorities say a 43-year-old man was shot, then robbed as a suspect held a hammer to his head early Saturday morning.
Lamont Wilkes was reportedly walking into his house on the 4400 block of San Francisco when he heard two gun shots, then felt sharp pains in his neck and back.
Police say as Wilkes fell to the ground, one of the suspects placed a hammer to his head and took $100 from his pants pocket.
Authorities say they believe two suspects were involved in the robbery, and were able to flee the scene. One of the suspects is described as a 6'0" man wearing dark clothing. The other suspect is described as a 5'6" man, who was reportedly wearing a mask at the time of the robbery.
Wilkes was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Police are still investigating this incident.
