O’FALLON, Il (KMOV.com) -- Police in O'Fallon are searching for two teens who they say robbed a pharmacy amid nearly ran over a woman while fleeing the scene on Tuesday.
The two suspects reportedly entered the CVS pharmacy off of Highway 50 and took several boxes of Prilosec; a drug used for heartburn relief.
The manager of the CVS told News 4 Prilosec is stolen from the store at least once a week. However the suspects were younger than the usual thieves, according the the manager.
Surveillance camera photos show two black males around eighteen years old. The suspect with the white hat had short hair, a mustache and was wearing faded black jeans. He is about five-foot-five.
The man in the red hoodie has dreadlocks and is about five-foot-seven.
The suspects fled in a spray-painted gray older model Chevrolet Caprice. While leaving the scene, the pair almost hit a woman in the parking lot.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, Prilosec is believed to increase the high when taken with Methodone, which may explain the rash of thefts of the drug at this pharmacy.
The suspects are wanted for assault and retail theft. Anyone with information on tonight’s crime is asked to contact the O’Fallon Police Department at 618-624-4545.
