Blues fall to Blackhawks in 'best game' of series

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The final score might've put the Blackhawks ahead and the series much closer now at 2-1 in favor of the Blues.  But that doesn't mean the Note played poorly.

On the contrary, they played - as head coach Ken Hitchcock put it - great.

"Best game (of the series) by far," Hitchcock deadpanned. "A little bit of the momentum got taken away when we had to do some of the (penalty kill) but, man, we poured a lot into it today.

"It's one of the best road games I've ever seen us play," Hitchcock continued.

The Blues just couldn't beat Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford who stopped all 34 shots they fired on net.

Ryan Miller let in what appeared to be a soft goal early in the 1st period to Jonathan Toews and that was the difference.

"Our game plan was working. We feel confident. We're just inches away from the game going the other way when we missed those open nets or those tips," Alex Pietrangelo said.

Game 4 is Wednesday night at the United Center.
