(KMOV.com) – Authorities said six people suffered minor injuries after a school bus overturned near Pevely Monday afternoon.
Police said the bus overturned into a ditch near the intersection of Highway Z and Persimmon Point just after 3 p.m. According to police, the driver lost control causing the bus to skid off the road and flip over.
Authorities said the bus was transporting students from the Mapaville State School for the Severely Disabled, all were between 12 and 18-years-old. All of them were in wheelchairs.
Authorities said four children and two adults were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and have since been released.
Police said everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
