(KMOV) – Part of nearly $53 million in federal funding is headed to St. Clair and Madison counties for community transportation projects.
Almost $1 million will be spent on Clay St. in Collinsville for road and sidewalk renovations, new lights and signs.
Another project in Madison County will connect a bike trail between Troy and O’Fallon.
In total, more than $4 million in federal funds is headed to Madison County.
About $675,000 is going to St. Clair County, where cyclists in Shiloh and O’fallon will soon notice improvements and enhancements on bike trails.
The funding comes from the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program and Gov. Quinn says the projects should create about 400 jobs.
