(KMOV) – A St. Louis County man is accused of scaring a teenager after he followed her through a neighborhood in Jennings in November.
James Paige, 39, was charged Monday with felony harassment of a person 17 years old or less.
According to police, a 17-year-old woman was walking to school near the intersection of Clifton and McLaran on Nov. 6 when a stranger, later identified as Paige, approached in a vehicle.
Police say Paige started talking to the victim. She ignored him and kept walking, but Paige kept following her and talking.
Authorities say Paige then got out of the vehicle and the victim began walking backwards to get away from him.
The victim ran to a nearby apartment complex, and Paige continued following her until she walked onto a porch.
Paige took off on foot and was later arrested. His bond was set at $5,000.
