WELLSTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Police have identified the two victims of a crash in which they were hit by a car that swerved off the road.

Police said Jermaine Byrd, 22, and Latanya Williams, 18, were hit by a car that swerved off Kienlen Avenue on the evening of January 26. 

Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

WELLSTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Accident reconstruction is investigating after a car swerved off a roadway and struck two pedestrians in Wellston Tuesday night.

The 19-year-old driver told police she was traveling southbound on Kienlen Avenue when she swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle that was traveling northbound. As she swerved across the northbound lanes, her car left the roadway, struck a curb and continued onto the sidewalk, killing two pedestrians.

Both pedestrians were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Authorities have not released any other details concerning the accident.
