GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police arrested two suspects after a two-state police chase ended in a car accident early Monday morning.

According to police, the chase started after an armed robbery in Granite City. When officers spotted 25-year-old Jermaine Pierce's vehicle, they pursued Pierce and the second suspect into north St. Louis. During the pursuit, Pierce's car crashed into a Madison, Illinois police vehicle at 19th and Destrehan Street.

Two suspects fled the scene, but were arrested shortly after. Pierce is being held on felony charges of assaulting a police officer. The second suspect, who has not been identified, is expected to face charges as well.
