Midnight basketball program aims to decrease crime in East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – The Midnight Basketball League will start next week to keep kids in East St. Louis off of the streets and to curb violence.

Crime in the area has been especially prominent between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Now, on Friday nights, basketball games will be played during those peak hours for crime.

The Midnight Basketball League will have games every Friday night between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. at the Sunshine Cultural Arts Center in East St. Louis.
