St. Louis Rams fans got some good news and some bad news Saturday night during the NFL’s awards show.

Hall of Fame finalists – and former members of the Greatest Show on Turf – Kurt Warner and Orlando Pace were not selected to be enshrined into Canton, Ohio.  The duo was beaten out by LB Junior Seau, WR Tim Brown, RB Jerome Bettis, DE Charles Haley and OL Will Shields.

On the brighter side, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year after having a monster 2014 season.  Despite not starting for the first few games, the rookie from Pittsburgh had nine sacks – including eight in his final 11 games.

It wasn’t just against the pass that made Donald special this year though.  He was one of the best defenders against the run the league had in 2014.  The 23-year old figures to be a mainstay on the Rams defensive line for years to come.
