ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A major portion of the Arch Riverfront is finally set to reopen on Friday.
When the south portion of the Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard opens, construction on the north side will begin.
Crews have been working to raise the Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard more than 2-feet since the fall of 2013. The roadwork is being done in two parts to raise the roadway out of the flood zone.
The first portion of the roadway, which runs from Choteau to the grand staircase of the Arch, will open Friday, Jan. 30. Once the first portion opens, crews will start working on the northern end of the roadway.
The entire roadway will be open in time for the Arch’s 50th anniversary in October.
