ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -- Less than two years after a man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a girl, his father is now facing charges of sexually abusing the same victim.
Forty-nine-year-old Ronald Kopf Jr. of Aloha on Jan. 20. He was arraigned in court Thursday on charges of rape, sex abuse, sodomy and delivery of marijuana to a minor.
According to court documents, the 15-year-old victim disclosed to her mother and a family friend that she had been in a year-long sexual relationship with Kopf, who lives in the same area.
A probable cause affidavit states Kopf admitted giving the girl money, cigarettes and marijuana. He also told detectives he regretted having a sexual relationship with the girl, court documents state.
According to detectives, Kopf's son had sexually abused the same girl. Court records show Christopher Kopf was arrested in November 2012, convicted of first-degree sex abuse in August 2013 and sentenced to prison.
Detective Robert Rookhuyzen of the Washington County Sheriff's Office said there are actually three generations of men in the family who have faced sex abuse charges.
He said Ronald Kopf's father was also convicted of sex abuse years ago in an unrelated case. He has since died, detectives said.
Ronald Kopf pleaded not guilty to the charges against him on Thursday. He is set to face trial on March 20.
