ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Albert St. Clair is a U.S. Army veteran who is helping fellow veterans when he is not working.
Albert spends his off-time at a small tent-filled camp just outside downtown that fellow veterans call “home.”
“It tears at my heart that they can come back from Korea or Afghanistan or Iraq, or anywhere they served and come back to this country and have nothing,” Albert said.
Albert sold most of his furniture to help pay for supplies for the veterans in the area. When he visits the camp, he will make the veterans lunch, bring them firewood and even haul away their trash.
Albert never asks for anything in return, except for an occasional trade.
“As veterans, we should leave no man behind, or woman that has served this country,” he said.
