JENNINGS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police are searching for two suspects who they believe kidnapped a man in Kansas City, forced him to withdraw money from several banks, and drove him to the St. Louis area.

Authorities said a 67-year-old man was carjacked and kidnapped in outside his Kansas City home around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning by two people. Police said the men then held the man at gunpoint in his own van and drove him across Missouri, stopping at banks and forcing the victim to withdraw money.

Eventually, they made their way into Jennings. According to police, the victim escaped in the 5600 block of Jennings Station Road very close to the Jennings Police Department before calling 911.

"When the officers got there, it was absolutely clear from he was telling us, obviously there were injuries to his face,: said Lt. Jeff Fuesting with St. Louis County Police.

Police said the victim escaped with the suspects' gun.

"We recovered a gun from the scene. The victim was able to get the weapon from the suspects so I would consider them armed and dangerous because they could have another weapon with them," Fuesting said.

Police believe the suspects are driving the man’s van, a red or orange Chevrolet van with Missouri license plate number SF6-UOW. Authorities also said the van has running boards with a gold stripe.

Police describe the first suspect as 20-years-old, wearing a gray or blue baseball cap. Police believe the second suspect is 25-30 years-old, wearing a ski mask, dark blue shirt, and jeans
