ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – An apartment building in the Central West End had to be evacuated after an early morning fire.

The second floor of the three-story building, located in the 5600 block of Waterman, caught fire just after 5:30 Wednesday morning.

A preliminary investigation into the cause of the fire revealed a laptop computer was left turned on sitting on a couch. Firefighters say the owners of the laptop were not home at the time of the blaze. 

No injuries were reported.
