Police arrest two thieves at Wood River Wal-Mart

WOOD RIVER, Il (KMOV.com) – Police say they arrested two suspects after they both tried to steal various items at the Wood River Wal-Mart.

Authorities say a Wal-Mart manager confronted 30-year-old Brandon Tate after he was allegedly seen loading an a television into his car without paying for it. Tate then punched the manager, drove away, crashed his car, and was taken to jail.

In a separate incident at the same Wal-Mart, Wood River police say Traveon Brown from O’Fallon, Illinois was armed as he shoved a worker when she saw him leaving the store with two HP computers.

Brown was also seen with a 17-year-old from East St. Louis who is believed to be his getaway driver. He has a history of stealing computers from other Wal-Mart locations in Illinois and Missouri.
