Florissant police asking for help in copper burglary investigations

FLORISSANT (KMOV.com)  The City of Florissant has seen an increase in copper burglaries from unoccupied homes in the area, so the police are asking for help in looking out for possible culprits.

As a reminder, a copper burglary occurs when copper piping is still from a home and then sold to scrap yards.

The Florissant police want the residents of the city to be on the look out for anyone appearing to be working on abandoned and unoccupied properties. Often, copper burglars take the appearance of construction or other utility workers to confuse neighbors into thinking they are supposed to be in the houses.

Police are asking people to report any suspicious activities or people as soon as possible.
