(KMOV.com) -- Police charged a man who allegedly stabbed a relative to death at his home in south St. Louis late Tuesday night.
According to police, Quy Vo, 32, was arguing with Phung Huynh, 44, at a house in the 3400 block of Juniata around 10:40 p.m. when the stabbing occurred.
Police say Huynh was sitting on the front steps of the home when Vo stabbed him in the abdomen with a large knife. Authorities say the stabbing stemmed from an ongoing feud between the two.
According to the police report, Vo was holding his 18-month-old child when he allegedly stabbed Huynh. He dropped the child onto the pavement moments later.
Vo initially fled the scene but was apprehended by police about a block away from his home.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Police said both the suspect and victim are Vietnamese and speak broken English. Officers were using an interpreter to communicate with the family so they could figure out a motive.
Quy Vo was charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation is ongoing.
