$6.5 Million distributed among 9 Missouri health centers

(KMOV) – Nearly $6.5 million in grants made available by the Affordable Care Act will be distributed to nine Missouri health center sites, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced Thursday.

The funds will help care for approximately almost 48,000 additional Missourians by establishing new health center service delivery sites. 

Nationwide, 236 health center programs will receive about $150 million in grant awards to serve more than 1.25 million additional patients.

“Missouri health centers are key partners in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and new health center sites will increase access to those who need it most,” said Sebelius.

Here are the health centers in Missouri receiving the grants:

Cross Trails Medical Center - Cape Girardeau, Mo.

East Central Missouri Behavioral Health Services -             Mexico, Mo.

Health Care Coalition of Lafayette County -          Lexington, Mo.

Ozark Tri-County Health Care Consortium DBA Access Family Care – Neosho, Mo.

Pathways Community Behavioral Healthcare – Clinton, Mo.

Richland Medical Center – Richland, Mo.

South Central Missouri Community Health Center – Rolla, Mo.

Southeast Missouri Health Network - New Madrid, Mo.

Swope Health Services - Kansas City, Mo.
