Illinois lawmaker looking for state businesses to go green

(KMOV) – An Illinois lawmaker is looking for state businesses to “go green.”

State representative Naomi Jacobson is encouraging local businesses to apply for one of two federal grants.

The $15 million grants are part of the stimulus project. One grant is to fund green manufacturers, and the other is set to promote energy conservation at large businesses.

The shipping business is also going green.

Out in California, Rent A Green Box says all of its products are only made from recycled trash.

They make 25 packaging and moving products.

According to the owner, green moving is less expensive because businesses or homeowners rent all the materials instead of buying them.
