(KMOV) --  Officers in several St. Louis County police departments are trying to help the daughter of a paramedic who died while trying to save a patient.

On Friday, officers were in north St. Louis County collecting money for the 7-year-old. Scherese Bishop, 37, worked for the Northeast Ambulance and Fire Protection District and was on an emergency call assisting a man with heart failure when she collapsed.

The Pine Lawn Police Department hopes to raise $5,000.

Donations were collected at the intersection of Natural Bridge and Jennings Station Road. There was also a barbecue fundraiser at the North Oaks Plaza at Natural Bridge and Lucas and Hunt.
