MoDot closed Monday the connection between Route 94 and Old Route 94 in St. Charles County.
The closure is part of the Route 364 upgrade, a $44 million project that will extend the roadway east of Jungermann Road and west of Central School Road in St. Charles County.
Drivers will not be able to access Old Route 94, which is the western end of Harvester Drive, from Route 94.
Instead, motorists will need to use Jungermann Road or the eastern interchange of Harvester Drive to access Route 94.
Drivers will also no longer be able to cross over Route 94 to Harvest Road on the north side of Route 94, motorists traveling on Harvest Road, howeverm will still be able to access Route 94 from both east and westbound directions.
The access from Route 94 to Old Route 94 will be closed for up to two months as crews complete work on the intersection.
When the intersection reopens, drivers on Old Route 94 will be able to access only eastbound Route 94.
Crews will also construct outer roads and build bridges to carry Route 364 over Woodstone and Jungermann Roads and construct a bridge to carry Central School Road traffic over the new route.
There are additional projects to extend Route 364 all the way to Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
The project is expected to be completed in 2012.
