INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) -- The trial of a western Missouri man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, her boyfriend and two young nephews gets off to an emotional start with the playing of a 911 tape of the boys' father crying.
Twenty-six-year-old Gevante Anderson is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbings at a Raytown apartment in March 2009. Killed were 21-year-old Precious Triplett, 33-year-old Andre Jones, 10-year-old Amir Clemons and 7-year-old Gerard Clemons.
The boys were visiting their aunt when the killings occurred. The toddler son of Anderson and Triplett was found walking among the bodies when Gerard Clemons Sr. arrived at the home and called 911.
Jackson County prosecutors say Anderson told a cousin he committed the killings. Anderson's attorney says another man was the killer.
