(KMOV.com) -- A man has been released from the hospital and charged for allegedly killing his wife and then attempting to commit suicide in their Robertsville home.
Randy Price is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.
Authorities were called to their home to investigate a shooting around noon on March 19. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the owner of the residence, Randy Price, 39, had been shot in the head. Price was transported to St. John's Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He underwent surgery. Randy has been found "fit for confinement" and has been moved from the hospital to the Franklin County Jail.
His stepdaughter, 14, was in the residence at the time of the shooting, along with her three younger siblings and some of her friends. She heard a gun fire and found Randy Price shortly after with a gunshot wound to the head. According to Franklin County police, there were seven children in the home.
Price reportedly told his stepdaughter on Thursday that their mother was leaving for a couple days. Since Thursday, the daughter sent her mother text messages and said she received responses, but stated that her mother would not answer phone calls.
Deputies continued to search the area and located the mother's cell phone. Police also located the mother's vehicle behind a shed near the residence. At 2:10 p.m., officers located the body of the mother, Tiffany Price, 36, in a second vehicle that was parked behind the shed. She had been shot. Police said it appears Randy Price shot his wife Tiffany and then turned the gun on himself.
Randy Price left a note on Facebook telling all his friends and family goodbye. He explained that he had been sick for a while and asks his friends and family to take care of his kids.
Police did not say if they knew when Tiffany was shot, but say they have initiated a full investigation and plan to release information as it becomes available.
Randy Price is jailed on a $1,000,000 cash only.
A trust fund has been set up for the children of Tiffany Price. If you wish to do a monetary donation you can send them to
