(KMOV) – A man is charged after one man was killed and another was injured in a double shooting that happened when an argument in a local business turned violent.

James Blakey was charged with manslaughter.

The shooting happened Friday evening in the 3100 block of Ivanhoe in south St. Louis.

Authorities said employees at the business were arguing which led to a shoot out. There was at least one shotgun used. The second gun was possibly a handgun.

Police said two men had a dispute inside the business. Bobby Hartzell, 74, shot a 50-year-old man and then tried to leave the scene.  Police said Blakey shot Hartzell when he tried to leave.

According to authorities, the 50-year-old victim was shot several times in the hip, chest and neck and was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.  Hartzell was shot in the head.  He was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

Police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.

Police do not believe this was a random act. It is unclear what started the fight.
