(KMOV) – The demolition of the Grand Bridge just south of Highway 40 will shut down Metrolink’s service between Union Station and Central West End stations this weekend and March 26-27.

Metro will shuttle riders by bus from the beginning of service on Saturday until the end of service on Sunday.  Customers should expect up to a 10 minute delay starting at 8 p.m. on Friday due to the bridge demolition.

The MetroLink track running beneath Grand Boulevard is expected to reopen on Monday at the start of service.  Trains will not stop at the Grand Metrolink Station for the first few weeks of the initial bridge demolition.

Customers who use the Grand Metrolink station will need to get on or off at the Union Station Metrolink Station to connect to the #70 Grand bus.

Customers traveling in this area should plan an extra 15-20 minutes for their commute.
