Concrete on railroad tracks gets fixed after News 4 investigates

(KMOV) - Residents have been begging the city of Valley Park to do something about the broken concrete in the middle of the railroad tracks at Didian and Beckett Memorial Drive. The large holes are causing drivers to get flat tires and damage their cars.

The city of Valley Park agrees there's a problem but says it's up to Burlington Northern Railroad to fix it. News 4 watched as cars drove over the tracks and it was clear drivers are very hesitant and nervous as they make their way to the other side. Some tried to avoid the broken concrete, but if cars are coming in the opposite direction, it's almost impossible to avoid them.

It's deteriorating and not only causing flat tires, but scratching cars up as well. Only a few hours after News 4 investigated, Burlington Northern Railway temporaily fixed it by patching the holes up.  Residents though say that's been done before and it never lasts.  They want a permanent fix.

Our calls to Burlington Northern Railway have not been returned.
