"It's completely inappropriate for that to have occurred. We apologize in advance if there's anything our officers have done." --- Dan Isom - St. Louis Police Chief
Chief Isom says he still doesn't know who took the photo but told us he was aware of it and was looking into it before the media found out about it. He wouldn't speculate on what could happen to the officer (if it was a St. Louis police officer) who took and distributed the photo but says there would be a punishment.
He says any photos taken at a crime scene are to be used for investigative purposes only.
While some speculate police were so proud of killing a killer who killed one of their own they wanted to show the world what happened to Carlos Boles, the chief says he doesn't know what the motivation was and it doesn't really matter. Taking and sharing that photo was wrong.
