ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- The St. Louis County Highway and Traffic Department is saying that the unmanned speed cameras in two North County cities are unfair to drivers.
The cameras, which are located in Berkley and Cool Valley, do not match regulations set by St. Louis County on speed regulating devices.
When the county highway department complained to the City of Berkley about its camera near an elementary school, officials later removed the sign that warned motorists about the device.
A spokesman for the department said the county doesn’t like the cameras. Period.
