Jupiter, Florida (KMOV.com) -- KMOV.com's Brian Feldman is in Jupiter, Florida covering the Cardinals and is posting regular updates from spring training.

Mar. 14, 2:45 p.m. -Talked to Lohse. His goal was to get to 70-75 pitches today. Needed 6 innings just to get to 61. But he says the up-and-down in between innings was enough to make up the difference.

Mar. 14, 1:27 p.m. - 61 pitches for Lohse. Doesn't get much better than that.

Mar. 14, 1:26 p.m. - 6 shutout for Lohse! Now the bullpen gets going. Wow. That was awesome. Been a very exciting game for 0-0 in the bottom of the 6th...

Mar. 14, 1:15 p.m. - Lohse on deck to hit for himself and no one is warming up. Hmmmmmm. Going 6 innings in March huh?

Mar. 14, 1:14 p.m. - There it is. 5 shutout innings for Lohse. 1 hit by Dan Uggla is the only thing stopping him from perfection. That and 4 more innings.

Mar. 14, 1:08 p.m. - Uggla breaks up the perfect game. Oh well.

Mar. 14, 12:57 p.m. - After another K...Matt Holliday makes a sliding catch to preserve Lohse's "perfect game". We're now through 4...12 up...12 down.

Mar. 14, 12:53 p.m. - Just got word Lohse has thrown 29 pitches through 3 innings. If you don't know anything about baseball...that is very very very good.

Mar. 14, 12:51 p.m. - Lohse is cruising through 3...going for 4 now. Heck he might have to go 6 just to get his pitches in at the rate he's going.

Mar. 14, 12:29 p.m. - Lohse is K'ing people up left and right. I'm believing the hype.

Mar. 14, 12:10 p.m. - My first time seeing Lohse pitch a game this spring. Hearing he's been the most impressive pitcher in camp thus far. Able to do things he just flat out could not the last year plus.

Mar. 14, 12:06 p.m. - Looking at stat sheet, 3 Cards regulars are hitting over .300 this spring. Holliday (.360), Freese (.429) and Schumaker (.375). Craig (.355) and Laird (.389) are as well. Pujols (.280) and Rasmus (.281) are not far off. Theriot (.222), however, is.

Mar. 14, 10:09 a.m. - Augenstein on fire in relief of Dickson. 2 great innings K'ing up
people left and right. Interesting person to maybe come up midseason.
Got some weapons.

Mar. 14, 9:55 a.m. - Brandon Dickson done after 2 innings. Pretty good. Only the HR to
Mather was a negative. I just don't see him (given a couple "B" game
innings) as a legit contender for the 5th starter spot. Tony mentioned
him today as a candidate...but he throws a couple "B" game innings
while McClellan keeps going 4-5 in "A" games? Just name McClellan the
starter already.

Mar. 14, 9:40 a.m. - Joe Mather just hit a BOMB in the 2nd off Dickson. The ex-Cardinal has
a lot of fans here, clearly, because he's getting some loud cheers.
People remember him.

Mar. 14, 9:34 a.m. - Berkman grounds out to 3rd in first AB. Remember him saying he's just
looking for a swing he's "comfortable" with going into the season.

Mar. 14, 9:26 a.m. - Brandon Dickson goes 1-2-3 in the first inning of the "B" game. Looked
very sharp. He's got a LOT of room to make up if he's going to knock
off Kyle McClellan for that 5th starter gig.

Mar. 14, 9:15 a.m. - There's a nice crowd here on Field 1 for this "B" game that's about to
start. Also just saw former Cardinal Joe Mather hug Chris Carpenter.

Mar. 14, 9:13 a.m. - Lohse has been about as impressive in camp as anyone. Been throwing great.

Mar. 14, 9:12 a.m. - Tony says Theriot has a little Eckstein in him as far as working
counts and never giving up on an at-bat.

Mar.14, 9:10 a.m. - Tony notes: Berkman could be playing the OF as soon as Thursday. Has
looked really good and smooth thus far in everything he's done.

Mar. 14, 8:21 a.m. - AJ Pujols throwing a bullpen session right now. Kind of funny to
watch. Left-handed thrower unlike his dad.

Mar. 14, 8:17 a.m. - Berkman DH'ing in the "B" game because there is no DH in the "A" game
today. John Mozeliak and Frank Wren (Braves GM) decided to not have
one today but have the DH tomorrow. Cards don't think its necessary to
have Berkman play the OF everyday yet because there's so much time
left.

Mar. 14, 8:08 a.m. - Lineup for "B" game at 10:15 eastern: Descalso 4...Robinson
8...Carpenter 5...Berkman DH...Cazana 7...Hamilton 3...Stavinoha
2...Vasquez 6...Chambers 9 (Dickson pitching with Augenstein and
Snell)

Mar. 14, 8:06 a.m. - Lineup for "A" game at 1:05 eastern: Theriot 6...Craig 9...Pujols
3...Holliday 7...Freese 5...Rasmus 8...Laird 2...Schumaker 4...Lohse 1
(Franklin, Motte, Salas listed in 'pen)
