2 Hospitalized in South County officer-involved accident

 ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Emergency crews responded to an officer-involved accident in South County Tuesday afternoon.

A St. Louis County Police patrol car was involved in an accident near the intersection of Gravois and Laclede Station Road.   Police said the officer was responding to a call with his emergency lights and sirens on when another vehicle pulled out in front to the officer's car.

The two vehicle collided, and the patrol car went into the a field at Cor Jesu Academy.  The driver of the second car was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

The officer sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  He was released Tuesday night.

Police said an investigation in ongoing, but it does not look like any charges will be filed.
