ST. CHARLES CO. (KMOV.com) – Sunday night the final phase of the Page Avenue Extension in St. Charles County opened to traffic.
Drivers in St. Charles County will notice only one lane of Route 364, both eastbound and westbound, at Mid Rivers Mall Drive is currently passable. Crews are still working on ramps along the roadway causing some of them to remain closed.
The ramps at Route 364-Route 94-Mid Rivers Mall Drive will open later this fall, which includes the ramp from eastbound Route 364 to westbound Route 94/Mid Rivers Mall Drive and from Mid Rivers Mall Drive to westbound Route 364. A new ramp from eastbound Route 94 to eastbound Route 364 will also open later this fall.
MoDOT says drivers can continue to use the detour up and over Mid Rivers Mall Drive to access eastbound Route 364.
“Ultimately we know this will be a great alternate route for people who use 64 and cross the Daniel Boone Bridge or people who use I-70,” Tom Evers with MoDOT said.
The $118 million construction project was divided into three phases starting in 2003 with the construction of the Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Missouri River. The second phase of the project was completed in 2012 when construction was completed from Jungs Station to Mid Rivers Mall Driver.
