ST. LOUIS – Authorities in St. Louis County captured a sexual predator who skipped out on his probation in Butler County, Missouri.

Police responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 10000 block of Page Avenue and discovered John Squires, 55, in the home Friday night. According to police, Squires cut off his ankle monitor Wednesday in Poplar Bluff while he was going to a doctor’s appointment and fled his probation and parole supervision.

Upon discovery of Squires, police were alerted to a Nationwide Extradition Warrant for the suspect. He was taken into custody and transported to a jail in Clayton. He will then be transported back to Poplar Bluff Saturday.

Poplar Bluff Chief Danny Whiteley called Squires a violent sexual predator and he was glad Squires was no longer an imminent threat to any families.
