CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Five felony cases Ferguson officer Darren Wilson was considered an "indispensable witness" in were dismissed by St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch, he said in a news release Wednesday.

It was reported on Monday that a felony drug case involving Wilson was dropped because Wilson failed to appear in court.  Four additional cases were dismissed.

McCulloch said that, per standard procedure, his office gathers all pending cases involving any witness that becomes the subject of an investigation themselves and determines if that person is a vital witness to the case.  Of 4,200 pending felony cases in St. Louis County Circuit Court, Wilson was a witness in ten of them.  He was indispensable in five of those, according to mcCulloch.

Information surrounding the cases that were dismissed was not released.

The other fives cases will proceed.
