BOONE COUNTY, Mo.(KMOV.com) -- Complaints are coming from a county prosecutor who says his workload is getting tied up in reviewing police body camera footage.
There have been 115 Columbia, Missouri Police Officers wearing the body cameras since August, and Prosecuting Attorney Dan Knight says he needs an extra $109,000 to hire two more people to assist with the new system.
Currently, an assistant prosecutor reviews hours of evidence rather than reading through a two-page report and each prosecutor has been handling more than 430 cases since the cameras were implemented in August.
