RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A woman who was walking into the St. Louis Galleria last Wednesday said she was mugged in broad daylight. Police said they are searching for the suspect.

The 77-year-old woman said she was walking on the sidewalk outside of the mall entrance after she had parked her car inside the garage. According to police, a silver four-door Chevy pulled up when the suspect got out of the vehicle and tried taking her purse. When the woman resisted, the suspect threatened to shoot her. After the woman handed over her purse, the suspect left.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, about 35 years old, and with a beard. He was wearing a tan jacket and tan pants with a baseball cap.

Police said the suspect did not display an actual gun, but the woman did the right thing by handing over her purse.

Anybody with information should contact Richmond Heights Police.
