FootballStL- The St. Louis Rams have acquired safety Mark Barron from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 4th and a 6th round pick according to NFL.com
The Rams are in need of safety and secondary help after losing safeties Rodney McLeod and Cody Davis in their week 8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Those injuries left the Rams with rookie Lamarcus Joyner, who has only played a handful of games and has been used primarily as a cornerback, as a starter across from safety T.J. McDonald.
Barron, a former first round pick just three seasons ago, has started all but two games in his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was considered to be a top playmaker coming out of Alabama.
Barron, however, has forced just four turnovers in his 37 career games. He has proven to be a force against the run, ranking second a season ago among safeties in run stop percentage when lined up in the box.
Barron should be expected to start for the Rams.
