ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Authorities are investigating after two dollar stores were broken into early Tuesday morning.
The front door window of a Dollar General in the 4900 block of Delmar was smashed with a rock just after 11:00 p.m. Monday night. Police say the suspect took several packs of t-shirts before exiting the store in an unknown direction.
Less than a mile away, a Deals in the 1300 block of Aubert had its front door glass smashed with a rock around 3:00 a.m. The suspect took several t-shirts from the store, police say.
Authorities say they also responded to Deals early Monday morning after a passerby saw the glass door had been broken. It is unknown what was taken from the store on Monday.
Authorities believe the same suspect is responsible for both crimes. Police describe the suspect as a black male between the ages of 18 and 23. At the time of the robberies he was wearing a thin, black stocking cap, black clothing and black gloves, police say.
The investigation is ongoing.
