ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – One person was injured in an attempted robbery in St. Louis Thursday night.
The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Lafayette around 10:00 p.m. Police say the 18-year-old victim was walking west on Lafayette when a man approached from behind with a gun and demanded the victim’s property.
Police say the gun fired as the victim attempted to knock the weapon out of the suspect’s hand, hitting the victim in the hand. The victim then fled to a friend’s house and was taken to a hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Police say the suspect is a black man, 5’8” to 6’0” between 170 to 200 pounds, wearing black sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
