O’FALLON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – On Wednesday, an O’Fallon, Illinois man was arrested for failure to register correct information as a sex offender, police say.

Shane A. Kitterman, 36, was taken into custody after the St. Clair County State’s Attorney issued two warrants for his arrest. The warrants were for “Unlawful Failure to Register Correct Information as a Sex Offender-Subsequent,” According to police.

Police say the warrants were issued after an investigation into the information Kitterman provided to the O’Fallon Police Department.  According to the department, Kitterman provided false information regarding his residence and locations he has stayed.

Kitterman was previously convicted of a violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act in 2005.

Kitterman is currently being held at the St. Clair County Jail.
