FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Businesses that were impacted by the Ferguson protests can receive zero interest loans to help with repairs. Approximately $1 million has been set aside for these loans through the Small Business Relief Fund.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon unveiled the fund late August. According to the St. Louis Economic Development partnership, they have identified 131 businesses in Ferguson, Dellwood, Jennings and North County where businesses were either damaged during the unrest or experienced a drop in customers because they were avoiding the area. Several business owners have expressed that they may not stay afloat much longer, and many businesses on West Florissant Avenue still have boarded-up windows.
Businesses can still apply for the loans, and there are other groups giving grants to small businesses in the affected areas as well.
