ST. LOUIS ( – Warren J. Gladders of Wentzville, Missouri was sentenced to 293 months in prison after pleading guilty to committing three armed bank robberies and shooting a trooper in 2013.

Gladders took roughly $7,000 from the Reliance Bank in Creve Coeur in July 2013, $5,000 from First National Bank in Weldon Spring in Aug. 2013 and $43,000 from the First National Bank in Marthasville, Missouri in Sept. 2013. Gladders threatened the tellers and customers while displaying a firearm during each robbery.

During the course of his capture, Gladders fired four rounds at a trooper. One of the shots struck the trooper’s protective ballistic vest. Gladders was apprehended after the trooped returned fire.

After his arrest, police obtained search warrants and found most of the items worn or used by Gladders during the armed robberies. Police say they also found a “sawed-off shotgun” in Gladders’ vehicle.
