ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- St. Louis authorities confirm that pictures a robbery suspect took of himself on a stolen iPhone have led to his arrest.

Malik Johnson, 17, has been charged for allegedly stealing a woman's phone at a Metrolink station.

Police say the 16-year-old victim was exiting the Metrolink platform when the suspect approached her and grabbed the iPhone out of her hand. According to police, the girl attempted to hold onto the phone but the suspect gained control of it and took off running east on Enright.

Several days after the phone was stolen, the girl logged into her iCloud account and found the suspect was taking photos of himself with the stolen phone.

After airing the original story on News 4 on Tuesday, investigators said they received numerous calls and tips identifying Johnson.
