Man charged with car theft, stealing flat screen TVs

(KMOV) -- Police announced on Wednesday that a 45-year-old man was arrested last week in connection to several crimes.

Samuel Lomax from the 11000 block of Renshaw is believed to be seen driving a white 1994 Chevrolet, which had been reported stolen on April 3, 2010 from the 1400 block of Locust. The vehicle was also wanted in connection with several reported robberies.

Police say they tried to curb the vehicle but the suspect refused to stop. At the intersection of Market and Compton the stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody and warrants were issued for Assault 2nd Degree, 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Resisting /Interfering with Arrest for a Felony and Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on $150,000 cash only bond.

Lomax is also charged with 1st Degree Robbery, Armed Criminal Action and several other warrants have been issued related to other crimes including a downtown robbery. Police say Lomax burglarized a business in the 2200 block of Olive and attempted to steal a flat-screen TV. The Circuit Attorney’s Office issued warrants for 2nd Degree Burglary and Theft/Stealing over $500.
